Tigress began on a day Manuela Jarry wanted to let her wild side out. She took her colours from Matisse’s The Pink Studio, a nod to the art history that runs through so much of her work, and turned them into something modern and playful: tigers moving through lush botanicals, in a hand-drawn design full of energy.

Pinks, purples and greens lead the way. Worn close to the face, the pinks bring warmth while the greens keep the whole look grounded, so it sits as easily with a black coat as with denim and a white shirt.

At 36 × 36 in (90 × 90 cm), this carré is generous enough to drape over your shoulders on a cool evening, fold into a neck scarf that frames your face, or tie as a top when summer comes.
