We can all use a little protection. Like a cabinet of curiosities, Guardian is filled with symbols meant to watch over you and bring health andprosperity: protective hands, insects, plants, flowers and seeds, each waiting to be discovered as you tie and retie the scarf.
Manuela Jarry drew this design while reading The Henna Artist by Alka Joshi, a novel set in 1950s Jaipur where symbolism lives in art, dress and food. Nature runs through every corner of the motif, a nod to her belief that surrounding ourselves with growing things is essential to our wellbeing.
Warm peach and sunny yellow keep the palette soft near the face, and the design pairs easily with denim, cream, navy or crisp white. Tied at the neck on a weekday or slipped onto a bag handle for a weekend outing, it adds colour and a quiet good-luck charm to whatever you’re wearing.
